The handle is not a gimmick
I move it between the sofa and the bath, which is the whole reason I chose this over a basket. The chrome handle is set into the lucite properly and does not flex when it is loaded. Clear means the pile itself becomes the decoration, so keep your ugly magazines elsewhere.
Brown lucite was the better choice for us
I ordered clear first and sent it back, not because anything was wrong with it but because every scuff and fingerprint showed on a clear box in a busy room. The brown hides all of that and still lets light through. Same build, easier to live with.
Heavier than it looks, and that is mostly good
It has real weight before you put anything in it, which is why it does not skid on a wood floor. The flip side is that loaded with a month of magazines it is a proper carry, so the handle earns its keep. Beautiful thing. I just would not call it portable.
