I expected a tacky prop
Fake books are usually obvious. The print is flat, the spine is wrong, and it fools nobody from a metre away. This one has the texture of a dust jacket and the spine lettering is set properly, so it sits on the shelf with real books without looking out of place. Inside it takes three remotes, a pen and my glasses. Two people have picked it up to read the back cover. That is the test, and it passed.
Know what you are buying and you will be happy
It is card. Thick, well printed card, but card. I say that because people expect wood at this price and then feel let down. Mine has held a small candle on the coffee table for two months without losing its shape. Fill it with cables and lift it by the spine though, and the side flexes. I pick it up from the base now. Four stars because I would pay more for a rigid version.
