This colour
Smoked pink was a gamble on a screen and it landed. It is muted, closer to a dusty rose than anything sugary, and it warms the whole room from the doorway. I bought two for the sofa and went back for a third for the bedroom chair. Nothing else in the flat changed, and it feels like it did. My mother asked whether the sofa was new.

Description+
Ribbed corduroy velvet with an invisible zip and the same fabric on both faces, in 19 colours and the three everyday square sizes.
Ribbed corduroy velvet cut into a cushion cover, with the same fabric front and back rather than a plain cotton reverse, so it still looks right when someone knocks it face-down. An invisible zip runs along one edge and disappears into the seam. Three sizes here: 40×40, 45×45 and 50×50 cm, the ones that do the everyday work on a two- or three-seat sofa.
Nineteen colours, from cream and camel through to emerald, rubber pink and dark purple. This is the cover only, so order an insert 2 cm larger than the cover if you want the corners to fill out properly. Machine wash gentle at 30°C or wash by hand; no bleach, no tumble dryer, and iron on the reverse at low heat to keep the cord standing up. For 55 cm and above see the Square Large cover, and for oblong shapes the Lumbar.
Corduroy pile catches light along the ribs, so the same cover can look a shade darker or lighter depending on which way the nap is running and where the lamp sits. Screens add their own shift on top of that.

Why the Corduroy Throw Pillow Cover, Small
The cord runs in even ribs that catch the light as it moves across them, giving a flat sofa some texture. Both faces use the same fabric, so a cushion knocked over still looks like the one you bought.
The closure is set into the seam rather than sitting proud of it, so nothing interrupts the line of the cover. It opens wide enough to get an insert in and out without wrestling.
Cream, camel and silver grey sit quietly. Emerald, rubber pink and dark purple do the opposite. Because the texture stays constant, mixing three or four colours on one sofa reads as a scheme rather than a jumble.

Buy the insert two sizes up
Lovely fabric, no complaints there. But I pushed my old 50 cm pads into the 50 cm covers and the corners sagged like a deflated balloon. Ordered 52 cm pads and it looks like a different cushion. The page does say so and I skimmed it, the way everyone skims it, so maybe put that line in bold. Four stars for the sizing trap, not the cover.
Both sides are the real fabric
I have a drawer of covers that arrived with a stiff cotton back and a zip that snags. These are not that. The cord runs on both faces, so there is no wrong way round when someone knocks one over. The ribs are fine rather than chunky, about the width of a shoelace, and they lie flat. Washed at thirty, line dried, ironed on the reverse, and the pile came up as new.
Frequently asked questions
Is the insert included?+
No, this is the cover only. Most people already have inserts and are refreshing the look for a fraction of the cost of new cushions.
What size insert should I buy?+
Match the cover size for a relaxed look, or go 2 cm larger for a full one with firm corners. A 45 × 45 cm cover with a 47 × 47 cm insert gives that plump, styled shape rather than a slightly empty one.
How do I wash it?+
Gentle machine cycle at 30°C or by hand. No bleach and no tumble dryer, both of which flatten the cord. Iron on the reverse at low heat so the pile stays standing.
Why are square and lumbar sold separately?+
Across 19 colours the full size range runs past what a single product page can hold, so the sizes are split into Square Small, Square Large and Lumbar. Same fabric, same colours, same construction across all three.
Will the colour fade?+
Not with normal use and 30°C washing. Like any dyed textile, a cushion left in direct sun on a south-facing windowsill for months will lighten over time.
