A 300 ml ceramic mug, 8.6 cm across, with hand-painted stripes running vertically down the body and coffee time pressed into the clay as a raised detail. The wall is thick enough to hold heat through a slow morning and give the mug some weight in the hand, which is most of what separates a good mug from a thin one.

Three colourways: amber brown, black and green. Sold singly or in sets of two or four, so a set of odd colours works as well as a matched pair. Painted by hand, so stripe width varies between mugs. Wash it by hand to keep the painted surface sharp; a dishwasher will dull it over time.

The stripes are painted by hand before glazing, so spacing and width shift a little from piece to piece and no two are identical. Glaze depth also changes how the colour reads under warm bulbs versus daylight. That variation is the make, not a fault.
