Moulded ceramic with rounded wells that hold each egg upright instead of letting it roll. The six-egg tray measures 14 × 9.3 cm and fits a fridge shelf or a door bay; the twelve-egg tray is 18.5 × 14 cm and is better suited to a countertop, where it works as a standing display for eggs you actually want on show.

Seven colours: black, blue, pink, red, white, yellow and grey. Glazed ceramic wipes clean and carries no plastic smell, though it weighs more than the moulded pulp box it replaces, so the twelve-well tray is worth lifting with two hands when it is full. Eggs not included, in case that needed saying.

The stripes are painted by hand before glazing, so spacing and width shift a little from piece to piece and no two are identical. Glaze depth also changes how the colour reads under warm bulbs versus daylight. That variation is the make, not a fault.
